Outside of coaching, he enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family and remains semi-active in the Central Oregon archery community.

Scott brings over 30 years of swimming experience to the Bend Swim Club. He began swimming competitively at age eight and has been coached by some of the sport’s most respected figures. Like many swimmers, he has a strong dislike for cold water.
In high school, Scott was a member of the 1994 National Junior Team, earned “Rookie of the Meet” honors at the 1995 U.S. Nationals, and won gold and silver medals at the 1997 World University Games in the 200m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle relay.
At the University of Texas, he was a multi-time All-American, broke an American record, won four consecutive Big XII titles in the 500-yard freestyle, and helped lead Texas to two NCAA Championships.
Scott represented the U.S. in two Olympic Games, earning a silver medal in 2000 and a gold in 2004. He also placed 9th in the 200m freestyle in 2000, ranking as the sixth-fastest American in history at that time. In addition, he medaled at multiple World Championships during his five years on the U.S. National Team.
Now working in the software industry, Scott is excited to share his knowledge and experience with the team.
