Air Quality Guidelines
In late summer and early fall, wildfire smoke can impact air quality in Central Oregon. To protect the health of our athletes, Bend Swim Club may shorten or cancel practices based on current conditions.
- AQI 150–200: Practice will be limited to 1 hour or less in duration
- AQI above 200: Practice will be cancelled
We follow Bend Park and Recreation’s air quality guidelines when making decisions. They rely on the air quality index as reported by he Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Air Quality Index (AQI) – 8th and Emerson station in Bend.
