Upcoming Fall 2025 Season Update
As we move into the School Year and Fall 2025 season, the Bend Swim Club staff is focused on aligning our team for both individual success and overall growth. Our goal is to build a great team culture, maximize each swimmer’s improvement, and ensure continued delivery of high-quality coaching and long-term team sustainability.
To support this growth, we’re introducing the creation of a new team structure as well as a more flexible practice schedule that allows swimmers to tailor their attendance to what works best for their families. For instance, swimmers in the Orange group will be encouraged to attend four practices per week, but six practice options will be available. Also, swimmers in the Age Group Development groups will be able to choose the time slot option that works best for them (earlier or later and Olympic Pool–Indoor Pool). This model maximizes lane use, gives families more flexibility, and improves swimmers progress by giving them more attendance options.
Team Registration
- Current and past team members: Registration opens Monday, September 1.
- New swimmers: Registration opens Monday, September 8.
(We adjusted the registration date so families are billed in September and not August.) We strongly encourage families to register right away to make sure your spot is held and so you can start swimming when the season begins.
Practice Schedule & Facilities
Maximizing lane space and the water time for the team is critical. Practice times will align with school schedules, including early starts on Wednesdays (as early as 2:30 pm) to accommodate early release. Our coaching staff will remain flexible, adjusting lane space and group sizes as needed to create the best possible training environment.
Morning practices (6:00–6:15–6:45–8:00 am) will be utilized for some groups that start school at 8:45 AM to help balance training loads across the week and ensure swimmers get the right workouts at the right time. These additions will make the overall training schedule more cohesive and accessible.
The indoor pool will continue to serve as a key resource, especially for Age Group Development swimmers. We’ll also be expanding indoor pool use to include Saturday morning practices (6:30–8:00 am).
With school schedules varying—public elementary (7:45 am–2:15 pm) and public middle/high school (8:45 am–3:45 pm)—we aim to ensure every swimmer has an ample opportunity to train effectively. To support families, we’re also exploring the creation of a parent contact list to help facilitate carpools.
Group Advancements
We are working for future Group Advancements to be determined cyclically and to provide clear progression points throughout the year. The newly restructured groups will allow swimmers to graduate to the next group more frequently, assuring are training and learning at the correct rate.
